ANZ’s Swiss partner hires ex Russell consultant to drive insto sales

March 2, 2015

Swiss wealth management firm and ANZ global equities partner, Vontobel Asset Management, has signed up former Russell NZ consultant, Bobby Ross Bostic Jr, to drive institutional sales in Australasia.

Bostic, who finished a six-month stint with Russell NZ last February, would support Vontobel AM’s “growing activities in Australia and New Zealand”, the firm said in a statement.

Following a 2013 agreement, the asset management division of Swiss private bank Vontobel provides a range of services to ANZ investments in Australia and New Zealand.

As well as filling an active global equities management role in many ANZ products (including its KiwiSaver schemes), Vontobel supplies asset allocation and risk management advice to the bank.

Last November Vontobel opened a Sydney office to service local clients.

In a statement, Vontobel said Bostic would help expand the range of investment strategies it could offer to Australasian institutions.

“Next to its partnership with ANZ, Vontobel Asset Management will broaden its client coverage in the institutional market with this new hire,” the Vontobel statement said.

Before his Russell NZ gig, Bostic worked in institutional and retail distribution roles for Capital Group in Singapore and Sydney.

Vontobel rolled out its ANZ offering, which includes the bank’s private wealth advisory networks, last year.
