Another top-level vacancy has opened up at ANZ Investments with the departure of head of investment governance, John Denz.
Denz exited the $30 billion plus bank-owned funds management group earlier in March for to take up the chapter lead investment role at Resolution Life NZ – the company now housing the former AMP life insurance assets.
He follows at least five other ANZ investment team members who have left the business over recent months after Alan Clarke, co-head of diversified portfolio management, and head of Australasian equities, Craig Brown, announced plans to resign last December.
As well as losing several investment analysts, ANZ also farewelled long-time head of funds management product, Grant Hodder, in February. Hodder assumed a similar job at Pie Funds.
The bank-owned funds giant, meanwhile, is looking to replace Denz with the slightly different role of head of investment risk and governance.
According to the job description, the new position involves ensuring the group’s “investment risk management and governance approaches are in-line with global best practice and consistently deliver good customer outcomes through investment excellence”.
The head of investment risk and governance will also report to ANZ funds management chief, Fiona Mackenzie. Previously, Denz reported to chief investment officer, Paul Huxford.
Prior to joining ANZ Investments in 2010, Denz spent four years at Fisher Funds.
While the ANZ fund house has filled a few junior roles, two senior spots – head of external partnerships, and head of equities – remain vacant.
ANZ last reported about $34 billion in funds under management with more than half held across its three KiwiSaver schemes.
