Well-known NZ investment industry identity, David Boyle, is set to headline as a freelance KiwiSaver advocate to the people of Hastings later this month in a cause uniting literacy and financial literacy.
Boyle will draw on his considerable experience both inside the funds management sector and a four-year stint with the Commission for Financial Capability (CFFC) – now known once again as the Retirement Commission – to lead a KiwiSaver discussion at the Hastings District Library.
The small $10 cover-charge will go towards the ‘Friends of the Hastings District Library’ charity.
Most recently head of sales and marketing for Mint Asset Management, Boyle has a long history in the NZ funds management business dating back to pioneering firm, Armstrong Jones, which later evolved into the ANZ investment arm.
While at the CFFC he “contributed to KiwiSaver changes, the Retirement Income Policy Review, the Financial Adviser Act review, and promoted financial education in schools, all to improve New Zealanders’ financial wellbeing”, the Hastings Library promo says.
In a nod to his musical interests, Boyle drew on a Rolling Stones number to title the show: ‘You can’t always get what you want. But can you get what you need?’
“I’m encouraging local financial advisers to promote the event to their clients,” he said, to hear an independent take on how KiwiSaver can deliver financial satisfaction.

Doors open at 6pm for a 6:30pm start at the Hastings War Memorial Library.
