Respected financial services industry figure, Tracey Berry, has added to the growing partner ranks at specialist consulting firm, Mosaic Financial Services Infrastructure.
Berry, most recently on contract as regulatory compliance manager for TSB, has a long history in the bank-based wealth management sector.
She led the wealth divisions of Westpac, BNZ and Kiwibank (encompassing a stint as head of Gareth Morgan Investments – or GMI) at various times over the last 20-plus years while also serving in industry governance roles including on the board of the Financial Advisory Disciplinary Committee.
In March this year Berry also joined the board of start-up high net worth financial advice firm, Prosper – a business seeded by GMI founder, Gareth Morgan.
At Mosaic she will focus on regulatory compliance issues, a growth market in the NZ financial services sector, according to founding partner, Myles Allan.
“We are not seeing any let up in demand for pragmatic solutions to our clients regulatory obligations, culture change and digital transformation challenges and we will continue to grow to ensure we can meet this,” Allan said in a statement.
He said Berry, who will mostly cover Mosaic South Island and Wellington clients from her Christchurch base, brings “yet more top flight capability and depth of IP to our business”.
Earlier in May, Mosaic named Caroline and Mark Carver as new partners specialising in privacy, another high-demand service in the industry.
Over the last couple of years, Mosaic has more than doubled staff and consultant ranks to more than 70 with other recent high-level hires including former Guardian Trust chief, Mark Jephson, who joined as partner this January, and Jigs Jamnadas, named as inaugural chief operating officer in October last year.
Allan said Mosaic planned one more senior appointment with insurance expertise before looking to promote “from within its stable of principal consultants to provide both continuity and succession options” as the company continues to grow.
