Long-time AMP Capital NZ executive, Rebekah Swan, will take over as head of the local operation, the company announced today.
Swan, currently AMP Capital NZ head of product and ESG investment specialist, will replace the outgoing Bevan Graham.
Graham resigned in August with an effective end date of January next year. However, his exit has been fast-forwarded with Swan to take the reins immediately.
She also assumes the head of client role, previously held by Greg McMaster, who resigned in August, too.
In a statement released this afternoon, AMP Capital global head of fixed income, Grant Hassell said Swan was a “highly valued and respected member of the AMP Capital team and has been central in bringing many of our global products and capabilities to our local clients”.
Hassell is also chair of AMP Capital NZ.
“She is held in the highest regard by our clients as well as the market more broadly and is involved in many industry groups, supporting responsible investing,” he said.
“Having Rebekah in the combined role of NZ managing director and head of clients will allow her to focus fully on continuing to grow, develop and support the changing needs of our business and to continue to meet the needs of our New Zealand clients,” Mr Hassell said.
Swan has been with AMP Capital for 19 years.
She said in the release: “I’m proud to lead such a strong and talented team, who are committed to delivering for our clients every day. I’m also excited to further imbed my deep passion for responsible investing across the business, especially considering the critical role of ESG in driving positive investor outcomes as well as for future generations of New Zealanders.”
AMP Capital parent company, the ASX-listed AMP, is currently subject to a takeover bid from the Los Angeles-based Ares Management.
