Trustees Executors (TE) has appointed a former chief operations officer (COO) of Australian firm Equity Trustees to head the business.
TE revealed to staff and clients today that, Ryan Bessemer, would take over from long-time incumbent, Rob Russell.
As reported this morning, Russell is due to finish his 12-year tenure with the trustee and funds administration business this week.
Bessemer, who officially started at TE today, was chief information officer for Equity Trustees from 2011-12 before assuming the COO role in 2012.
He left Equity Trustees – a major Australian trustees and ‘responsible entity’ business – in December 2016 to begin a post-graduate executive MBA via the Harvard Business School.
Previously, Bessemer held various senior IT roles at a range of Australian firms including Frigette International, Austock, Commander, Software Spectrum and Beam International.
In its job specs for the role TE says the new CEO “… will establish a new road map and apply industry knowledge in Fund Administration / Wealth Management, customer relationship skills, technical nous and commercial acumen both operationally and strategically to support the business during the next phase of its development”.
Russell’s surprise exit came in the wake of several senior staff exits over the last couple of years.
It is understood TE would announce new board members this week: the board shrank to three – including Russell – after Franceska Banga resigned recently.
